May 30, 2024 – BASF held a commissioning ceremony for the commissioning of the second production line for polymer dispersions at its Daya Bay site in Huizhou. The expansion is designed to respond to the rapidly growing demand for high-quality dispersion products in the local market and reaffirms BASF's commitment to serving its regional customers.
The production plant's strategic location close to raw material suppliers makes the supply of raw materials more efficient and convenient, allowing BASF to meet customer needs in a more competitive and flexible way. With the ramp-up of production capacity, the plant will continue to provide comprehensive support for a wide range of industries, including coatings, construction, packaging and adhesives.
BASF's Dispersions & Resins division is committed to developing a new generation of cutting-edge products to meet the evolving needs of the Chinese market. Andreas Fechtenkoetter, Senior Vice President and Head of BASF's Dispersions business in Asia Pacific, elaborated on the company's strategy to expand its production capacities: "Meeting existing demand and offering a wider range of products are driving our growth. Since its start of production in 2012, the dispersion production unit at the Daya Bay site in Huizhou has played an important role in supporting BASF's market growth in South China. In the fourth quarter of 2022, ground was broken on the plant's second production line. In the second quarter of 2024, the line will be fully operational, further reinforcing BASF's commitment to driving innovation to meet the evolving needs of a wide range of industries in the global market.
