Day-To-Night Window Tinting Prepares For Grand Opening

Day-To-Night Window Tinting in Roanoke Rapids, N.C., announced the upcoming grand opening of its first brick-and-mortar location on February 4, 2023. Owner Mike Powell founded the company in July 2011 and recently celebrated two milestones.

Huper Optik recognized Powell with the 2021 Horizon Dealer of the Year award in July 2022.

“Known as ‘Mr. Inspiration’ in the industry, his compassion, integrity and persistence have made him stand out as a dealer to be recognized,” says David Kratz, chief operating officer of Autobahn, Huper Optik and Edge. “Since joining the Huper Optik team, he has supported fellow dealers and industry professionals to create exciting energy for the brand. Day-To-Night Window Tinting’s business mix is 70% automotive window tint and 30% flat glass installations. Powell plans to incorporate ceramic coatings and paint protection film into the new facility’s offerings.

“My clients have never had a showroom or a waiting area,” says Powell, who previously worked in the back area of a tire shop. “This has truly been a dream of mine since the beginning. Our biggest goal is to continue growth within the business and better educate and add knowledge to our staff and myself. I want to be sure my clients continue to stay happy with our services. Lastly, I want my employees to grow and be well taken care of.”

The new location features a 1,000-square-foot showroom and an 1,800-square-foot workspace. Powell recently celebrated winning a World Champion Belt with Kyle Whalen of Pro Tint and Apparel in Hartwell, Ga., at Tinter Battles 2023.

“Truly, there are no words,” Powell says of his victory. “As some videos from the announcement ceremony showed, my emotions were through the roof. Tears of happiness and just a dream come true. To be a part of this industry is great in itself, but to be in the same battle arena with the legends and pull off the top score—mind blowing. I can’t stop smiling.”

With the grand opening for his first location in 24 days, Powell says, “Trust in God, and the rest will fall into place.”

“I never saw this happening, so we continued to push what we had and kept our heads up,” he says. “We pushed growth and most importantly knowledge to our clients … Showing them we give the highest service even though our location isn’t the best.”
